The numbers can be exciting. Impressions go up. Followers grow. Engagement increases.
But let me tell you something I’m learning in real time:
Visibility is not about going viral. It’s about being seen for who you truly are.
As someone who grew up between languages, cultures, and identities, I know what it feels like to be present but not always understood.
To speak, and still feel unheard. To show up, and still feel invisible.
And for a long time, I thought visibility meant perfection. Speaking flawlessly. Writing “correctly.” Fitting into what others expected.
But that’s not visibility.
That’s performance.
Real visibility is different.
It’s showing up with your story, even when it’s still unfolding. It’s sharing your voice, even if it carries an accent, a pause, or uncertainty. It’s honoring where you come from, not hiding it.
Because the truth is:
People don’t connect to perfection. They connect to authenticity.
As an educator and bilingual individual, I think often about the students and adults who are navigating new languages and identities.
How many of them feel like they have to shrink to be accepted?
How many are told, directly or indirectly, that their voice needs to change before it deserves to be heard?
What if we shifted that?
What if visibility wasn’t about becoming someone else… but about becoming more of who we already are?
This week, I showed up consistently. I shared. I engaged. I connected.
Not because I wanted numbers, but because I believe in creating spaces where voices matter.
And if even one person feels seen, heard, or understood because I chose to show up…
Then that’s the kind of visibility that truly matters.
So here’s my reminder today:
Your voice is not “too much.” Your accent is not a limitation. Your story is not something to hide.
It’s your strength.
Keep showing up. Keep speaking. Keep being seen, for who you truly are.
If this resonated with you, I’d love to hear your story.
Rooted in story. Rising with purpose. Siempre creciendo.
